Hey, I'm Michaela, a digital & film photographer and I’m glad you found your way here.
I’ve been a photographer for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved playing with the family video camera, film disposables, until I got my own cute little digital camera when I was about 8 years old.
I’ve always been an artsy person, I always loved to paint and draw and write. Anything creative just called to me. Much of my creative interests I have thanks to the influence of my grandma who loved the arts and my grandfather, the photographer. I was exposed to so much great art at a young age and some of my earliest memories were trips to SF with my grandparents to peruse around the DeYoung or the MOMA.
My professional career began in 2020. I had just graduated from college with a degree in Marketing, no one and I mean NO ONE was hiring. I was still living at home trying to survive the pandemic like the rest of us. But you know what you can do to socialize and still keep 6ft away? Photoshoots. I had just bought myself a new camera after I had outgrown my first Canon Rebel that my boyfriend had bought me for our anniversary and I was diving into photography the most out of all my hobbies at the time. I was doing self portraits, shoots with friends, and having a great time just being creative.
One day a friend of mine that I had met through my gym told everyone she was starting a clothing brand and gave people clothing samples. To show my appreciation for the free stuff I took some photos of the clothes, edited them all nice, and sent them to her so she she could use them however she wanted. She loved the photos and I ended up shooting a whole lookbook and e-commerce photos for her first collection. That’s when it clicked, I thought “ I can make a living at something I love.” And here we are. It’s been about 4 years now and I am so grateful to be where I’m at in my photography journey. I’m constantly traveling to amazing places, meeting amazing clients and other super talented creatives and I am not stopping anytime
